I guess it’s only dreaded because you want something catchy and meaningful, hoping your musings will be read far and wide, but in actual fact, it’s the start of something new and exciting.
A few weeks ago, the Mister and I decided we’d start up a bit of a hobby business buying, restoring where needed, then on-selling vintage goods. I also saw it as an opportunity to let my true self exist and connect with other like-minded individuals, and so Alexie RicRac was born (although a pseudonym, it is also an anagram of sorts our first and last names…points if you can figure it out!).
I’ve always known I was different, I never followed the crowds growing up, always marched to the beat of my own drum, but it’s only in the last few years that I’ve really become comfortable in my own skin and accepted who I am (and that’s because I’ve finally found someone who loves me, thanks Mister!). I went crazy setting up social media accounts (Twitter and Instagram are live, just search for @alexiericrac; Facebook is coming soon), creating graphics, all that jazz. It was loads of fun. We’ve got lots of stuff to show and sell, but now I just need to get the listings ready and then it’s all stations go! Our little 1950s apartment just isn’t quite coping right now, but we’ll get there in the end.
If I can organise myself properly, there’ll be regular posts about lots of facets of my/our life/lives, including outfits, bargain finds, restoration projects, around our home, any trips we take, and possibly more.
Looking forward to sharing my life with you through a screen.
